How much does your money have power over you? When used the right way money can be an incredibly powerful tool that can be used for the good of others, as well as for your own benefit. However, if used incorrectly, it can also be dangerous to you and to other people. Money makes a great servant but a lousy master. It should be seen as a tool to help you achieve your goals, rather than an end in itself. By keeping your focus on your purpose you can avoid giving money too much power over you.
Is Money The Root Of All Evil?
When you focus only on money it can leave you feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied with the direction that your life is taking. Even if you achieve great wealth in your life, if you are focused solely on money, what’s next? In order to lead a fulfilled and happy life, it is important to get what you can, save what you can and give what you can. This approach will help you live a more meaningful life and appreciate the value that money can provide.
Some people may believe that money is evil, but this is not the case. While, it’s true there are evil people around that use money for malicious purposes, and for harming others. These are people who have placed the wrong ethics and the wrong set of values on money. It does not mean that money itself is bad. Money can be a neutral force and it should not be something that you dread. It is not money itself that is responsible for evil acts, but the people who misuse it. In the hands of a virtuous person, money can do many wonderful things.
Money Can Be A Useful Tool
Money can be a useful tool that can help you achieve your dreams and goals, so let your money work for you and for the good of others. Give your money the power to multiply by using it to help educate others or by investing it. If you invest in the education and enrichment of others you will expand their lives and you will be repaid in countless ways.
What are your thoughts around money? Does your money have power over you? Do you think that it is the root of all evil? Do you think that money doesn’t grow on trees and that there isn’t a bottomless pit.
Limiting Beliefs Can Hold You Back
These thoughts are limiting beliefs that you have picked up throughout your life, which could be holding you back from achieving your full potential. Money is not the root of all evil, it is in fact, the love of money that is the root of all evil. Release those limiting thoughts and beliefs about money and any past experiences that have left you feeling disappointed or discouraged. They are not serving you well and you deserve better than to be bogged down by these old, limiting beliefs. Whatever bad experiences you had in your past leave them behind. It’s time to move on, and embrace a more positive productive mindset.
Even if you are in debt, it is possible to break free from the negative thoughts and behaviours that have led you to the debt you are facing today. You can begin to improve your financial situation. You already possess the power to change your circumstances, we all do. However, you need to start taking action to change those thoughts so that you can overcome your current situation.
Changing Your Mindset Can Change Your Situation
Albert Einstein once said that “Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them”.
What he meant by this statement is that in order to overcome the situation you are currently in, you first have to change your mindset. Once your change your mindset a change in your situation or circumstance will follow. Many people never achieve their full potential because they have paradigms that hold them back from reaching their highest potential. These self-limiting beliefs can act as barriers, preventing them from making necessary changes and progressing forward.
If you find yourself thinking along the lines of I’m too old to change now, or I don’t deserve to be wealthy, know that these are simply your paradigms. They are trying to keep you stuck in your comfort zone, where you will have no growth. Do you want to continue to live the same life year after year? If you are willing to step out of your comfort zone, you can open yourself up to growth and new opportunities.
However, if you can change your perspective on money and see it as a force for good that can do many good deeds you can start to change your life and live with abundance. Everyone deserves to be wealthy, but you also have to believe that it is possible. If you commit to using your money for the betterment of others, you will also improve your own situation in the process.
If you do that then the next time someone asks you “Does your money have power over you?”, you will be able to answer them with a resounding “No”.
