If you want to prosper in life it is the process of growth that leads to prosperity. Pat Mesiti, a successful coach and mentor that I have had the pleasure of being coached by, once said that growth is a process not an event and in order to grow you have to fall in love with the process, as there is power in the process. In order to get the results you must focus on the process and feed it on a daily basis. It’s these practical things that you do on a daily or weekly basis that will move you closer to your dream and your success.
If you write down the things that you need to accomplish on a regular basis and take action on each one according to what is the most urgent and most important first, then eventually the results that you desire will come. He says that what you do daily will determine what you are permanently.
Show Your Gritty Determination
The process can sometimes be hard to maintain, especially at the beginning when you are trying to break the habits that are not serving you well, but if you fall off at any point don’t adopt a defeatist attitude and give up because it’s too hard. Get right back up and carry on from where you left off. Show that gritty determination that you are not going to let this beat you.
Despite all the obstacles that he faced Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards persevered until he achieved his dream of going to the Olympics. Some of the challenges that he faced seemed insurmountable at the time but that did not deter him. He carried on regardless until he accomplished his dream. He understood the principle that the process of growth leads to prosperity.
Keep in mind that what you fail to conquer will eventually conquer you. Look on mistakes and failures as a lesson to be learned and look for the lesson that can be learnt from it, which will help you to improve and prevent you from repeating it again in the future.
Fall In Love With The Process
By falling in love with the process and embracing, wholeheartedly, the new you that will emerge, you will discover that your life will become more effective and have a new meaning.
It takes patience, perseverance and continuous action in order to grow and move you another step closer to your goal. However, it’s important that you continually grow and strive for something new once you have reached your initial goal.
If you want to grow exponentially, start by analysing where you are now, and take time to analyse your current situation correctly, so that you can address any problems as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Then aim for where you ultimately want to be. Think about what that would look like to you and write it down with as much detail as possible and look at it every day.
Review Your Situation
If you feel that your growth and prosperity is not taking you in the right direction, you can always review and reanalyse your situation, and adjust your course. You can even change your direction completely, if you feel that is the right course of action for you.
Align yourself with people that will inspire you and motivate you. Even someone that will at times challenge your way of thinking and your mindset. People that will change your perception of things and question some of the things that you do.
Affirm what is important to you, what your hopes and dreams are, and what your core beliefs are.
Anticipate what your growth and productivity will be. If you anticipate nothing then that is what you are bound to get, but if you anticipate abundance then you will surely get it
Apply truths in relation to what you truly believe, what you know and what you learn.
Adopt Good Habits
Adopt good habits that will serve you well and will help you to grow and prosper, and cast off the bad habits that are holding you back.
Abandon negative relationships and negative thinking, so that you can move on to something new that will serve you better.
The concept of growth is forward motion, so first make sure that you are moving in the right direction. As you continue on your journey of growth and discovery, learn from your mistakes as they will assist you in your growth.
Remember that mistakes are simply an event that occurs in your life and are not a permanent condition that will affect you for the rest of your life. When you recognise that the process of growth leads to prosperity you will be on your way to achieving it.
